Planning a wedding marquee
A marquee gives you room to shape a wedding reception around your guests and your venue. The first decisions are practical: where the marquee can stand, how people will reach it, and what needs to happen inside. Use this checklist to turn your ideas into a clear brief.
Choose the setting and check the space
Talk to your venue about the area available, delivery access and any rules for installations. If the wedding will be at home, measure the usable space and note trees, buildings, slopes and paths. Photos and a rough site sketch help us understand the possibilities before discussing a structure.
Sketch the day from arrival to dancing
Think through how guests will enter, where they will gather, and how the room needs to change between drinks, dining and evening celebrations. Include space for tables, a bar, buffet or catering needs, speeches, entertainment and a dancefloor where relevant. The guest number alone rarely tells the whole story.
